Servis washer dryer WD1496FGR – problem with programs/timer circuits?

Hi, hoping for some help or advice if possible.
I’m having a problem with my machine on the wash cycle where it’s resetting to the start of the cycle at certain points. So it will start on say 1 hour 37 mins, run for 15/20 mins, and then reset to the original time – if that makes sense?
So it’s taking much longer than it should to finish a cycle, and it’s also reset the temperature to 90 on a couple of occasions and makes random beeping noises like the buttons are being pressed.
The machine is around 5 and a half years old, so well outside of warranty, and I’ve been unable to get in touch with the Servis helpdesk by phone or email.

the machine fails about 15 to 20 mins in. Around that time I would expect the heater to either be active or become active. Is there and earth fault on the heater as things get warm or does the board power supply have blown caps so board runs out of power and resets

is the socket getting warm and does it do it on another socket (sparking socket connection can cause computer to reset )

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Could you let me know how I can check any of those things? The rinse part of the cycle seems to be running without issue, although I haven’t tried running a rinse cycle on its own.
The first time I noticed a problem, the top of the door seemed unusually hot, and it was giving off the smell that the dryer makes.
The socket is behind the machine so I can check this.
If it is an earth fault or the caps on the power supply, how do I get this fixed?!

to check an earth fault on any component you need at least a multi meter or better still an insulation tester

the fact the rinse cycle works ok point to a possible earth fault on the heater. I can say for certain without testing or swopping it but heater earth fault can upset electronic controls

with the power supply caps we are getting into electronics and circuit boards. When caps blow it not uncommon for the bas of them to dome up. So you look on the board for caps which are normally flat to see if any look domed up
