ParticipantHi all
this d/w seems to have a funny noise from the motor it is a higher pitched sound than normal.customer had insured it when buying it from curry’s and they sent someone out and he told her it needs a new motor.but now curries have decided to just replace the d/w by giving her a voucher for the value of it.she asked me to hace a look so i am wondering if there are any motor faults with these.
thanks

thanks for the quick reply, would this cause the whinning noise .
thanks niallApril 17, 2010 at 8:36 pm #318131nomadPaul
ParticipantIf the seal leaks on the motor , water gets into the motor and bearings causing quite heavy corrosion. The whining is the bearings running really roughly.

I think I remember the puffin, I mean penguin, saying you could replace the bearing easily enough on many of these motors.

Motor unit will disassemble if you need to replace the bearings. You need to mark the shaft to ensure that you locate the new ones correctly.

Yes but requires a generous dose of WD40, patience to let the effect work, then careful extraction using a 2 claw bearing extraction tool. 🙂
