ParticipantHello, I am looking to replace my workhorse of a machine (hotpoint first edition wm51). It has lasted me a good 15 years and I am looking for something to keep going for the next 15. I had my heart set on a miele but unfortunately I have a small kitchen and the maximum depth the machine can be is 53cm (55cm would restrict my adjoining cupboard opening). I now have a family so do a wash probably most days. I don’T mind spending over £800 if I can get a good quality machine (with minimum 6kg load) however I have hit a blank with my research. Can anyone help me please???

I dont think there is one, bosch use to do a reduced depth but it is discontinued. 53cm is very very shallow.

How about 54cm? The Zanussi ZWH6140P might be just what you’re after?

Hi
Bosch may go but it will be tight by removing the worktop lid and adding the height reduction lid WMZ2420 will reduce the depth from the rear bump to the front of the door trim would be 55cm as long as your plumbing is coming from the side as you only have about 3cm along the bottom.
An alternative cabinet would be the new Hotpoint WMEF range which are only 55cm deep overall.
It may be time to take your tape measure and visit a local retailer to see what I mean.
As the good Doc says 53cm is very shallow 😉
HTH 🙂

As an update 😀 and having a little dig around in the old brain cells which doesn’t take too long 😆
The only two slim depth washing machines in recent years have been the Bosch WLX24162 44cm deep and the Indesit IWSC5125 at 45cm deep. Not the greatest of sellers which is why they are no longer available.
A long shot I know but you could try ringing around dealers in your area who may have one left in stock.
