KeymasterWhat with one agent asking for 1000 shares with ken yesterday, I can confirm that gary ainscough is also very interested in obtaining shares in UKW.
I’ve fed him enough info to wet the appetite of anyone he talks to, especially at connect, also remember that these guys are doing the rounds of their own network.Gary has expressed an enormous interest in the shop and spare part sales and wishes to progress their interest with us. A subject that will keep for the evening we share a beer at stafford with roy, gary and dave.
More to come from Connect, I quietly predict Manufacturer Service is not far away with these guys and I do mean Main stream manufacturer. We are way out in front regarding info and UKW is definately a Connect priority.

Yeah I kinda figreed that they’d be interested and that will go straight back to Roy and on to the main man/men there so pretty much a result methinks.
The shop may attract a lot more attention in due course if I have my way as I’ve been doing some skulking about and intend to do a lot more. News to follow as that happens or doesn’t.
It’s interesting that Connect are taking the very mature attitude to UKW that it is and al credit to them for that as I do see a point where we will have to work with them. We’re not there yet and may well be a fair bit off, but it’s coming. But it is nice to know that they’re paying attention.

I dont want piss on anyone’ cornflakes but aint these the same people who would’nt let you use their spares pictures on our site just a few weeks ago.
I can see that it is in their best interest to climb into bed with us as they want to be the ones supplying spares if we do pull in some of our own work.
I would’nt give too much away until we’ve got it up and running.July 27, 2004 at 6:21 pm #114559kwatt
KeymasterRe: Shares
Del you’re not going to upset anyone here, so just get stuck in.
Yes, you are correct but that appears to be a company policy and, had they allowed us to use the pics, then the would have had to let every other bugger use them too. I can understand the train of thought there, but the point is that we asked.
Irrespective of how we feel towards CDSL on any level they look set to become the largest WP in the industry and, so far, they’re not pissing anyone off which is a nice change. I’m not saying I trust them and I’m not saying that anyone should do so as, to me, they are an unknown at this point in time but I do trust Kev’s judgement on the matter and it is only fair and proper to give them a fair hearing. Just as we would for anyone else.
The problem with impartiality is that it can become very difficult to maintain as you’re always walking a fine line when you actually work for the people concerned as well.
I mean let’s face it, CDSL did me a huge favour unknowningly by supporting Kevin both through PKI and the NESN debacle and I won’t forget that. Anyone willing to support their agents to that degree is on the right track IMO, let’s just wait and see what shakes out the tree from here on in.
On the subject of which…
It looks as if someone from NESN will be attending the meeting in September. Before you start throwing stuff at me it is not an entirely magnaminous gesture, I do have my reasons for this and it is largely a PR one, all will become clear in time. Suffice to say that, by attending, NESN are actually doing us a favour but perhaps not themselves one.
But yet again, the point is, we asked.

KeymasterI spoke to Gary the other day and he expressed his interest in UKW and was looking forward to the meeting. Ome thing to remember is he is new to the industry but also a very knowledgable bloke.
NESN, interesting. New management maybe new ideas. They have a long way to go but there is room in the industry for a number of networks , if they all find their own specialist niche and learn to work with the service providers.
Also it dilutes the work it is not good practices to have all yoor eggs in one basket, don’t I know.

KeymasterNot my take on JP, having all the eggs in one basket. 😉
I keep telling people I think a bit differently. I make no exception with this as we want to retain margin, areas and loyalty as well as add value to the businesses. If we want to do that then we have to start to think a bit differently to the way we have done in the past and, let’s face it, we can’t make it any worse!
NESN, I’ll let you know as they want a meeting with me.
As for niche, well have you noticed that all the niches have one thing in common…US!
