    Hi all,

I’m looking to buy a cordless vacuum cleaner and Shark is my preferred brand as I believe they’re the only ones who offer a five-year guarantee on their cordlesses (two years for the battery).

But since they have refurbished models – with only one year warranty – at around 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off, I’m wondering if it’s worth taking a punt and going for one of those in the hope that “well, they do build them to last five years” anyway. How is Shark’s track record on reliability?

I’m also really stressing over whether to get a model with a single, dual or triple battery so that I put the batter(ies) through few charging cycles. Would a single-battery model last five years? Is triple-battery overkill?

Little is known about Shark through the independent retailers channel. They are sold predominately online and on the shopping channels. AO, John Lewis and Currys have the odd model for sale as do Amazon.

Reviews are mixed are the review sites.

If they were that good why are they selling refurbed ones? My own thoughts are these are probably customer returns which are then repaired etc and marketed at the 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less price.

At least with a year warranty you have some assurance.

I’ve heard on two occasions from work colleagues that they wouldn’t have another shark cordless vac.
Both said that batteries don’t last and are expensive to replace
