Sharp dishwasher QW-DX41F47W = starting problems

This dishwasher is mine and has always been rather weird in its operation for all sorts of reasons but my wife knows what tends to work……

BUT now it just won’t select any setting — I’ve tried holding the P button down while off then pressing the on/off button on then “EP” shows for a second then 188 and it defaults to pumpimg out and bleeps BUT nothing else happens except the “end” light is on

This happened last week, we left it off for an hour and it did then work fine for 5 or 6 washes BUT not anymore!!

Any ideas please?

I’ve checked it again this morning but no difference….. It still just shows the “end light” and I can’t cancel it or reset it

I’m sure it’s a case of pressing buttons rather than a part failure, as when it works is fine ?!?
