Wondering if anyone can help?
I have a Sharp R-270 microwave. In a moment of madness I used it to heat up my soup without the soup actually being in the microwave. Despite dire warnings from my mother not to do this the microwave appears fairly intact. The klystron still seems to be producing microwaves but the turntable isn’t going round. The turntable motor is still functioning as a little bit of tippex on the spindle definitely moves when the oven is operated. I think the problem is therefore the turntable bush/coupling. The ring with wheels designed to fit onto the bush now moves very freely.
So far so good. My question is whether I’ve reached the right conclusion and whether I can just replace the bush? It would seem to be an easy job that wouldn’t even involve taking covers off or going near electrics. Also, I’m wondering whether anyone can help with a part number or where I could buy the coupling? I can’t find anything obvious online.
Thank you.
