Sharp microwave r-953m

I have a sharp microwave r953m,about 18 months after purchase the touch pad screen went wrong i.e. unreadable,no big deal still cooked.
Today my brother informed me that his sharp(same model)bought from same co. had gone wrong,can’t read screen and does’nt heat up.
I was wondering if the problems with this particular model are endemic and what sharp are planning to do about it,if anyone knows.

I’ve seen this a few times on recent Sharp microwaves, the normal repair is a new pcb/display board which isn’t cheap to replace, my own one at home did the same 🙁

You’d have to ask Sharp themselves if the are prepared to do anything regarding this for you though.
