We have recently moved into a house where a new kitchen has been fitted with 2 new sharp ovens, they have the pyr self cleaning function which is new to me but tried it the other day. I selected the cycle on the first oven and the door locks and the cleaning cycle completed in a couple hours no problem but the second oven the door won’t lock (the pin/latch doesn’t move down to lock the door), have removed oven and when I touched the latch with a magnetic screwdriver it engaged and operated fine so I’m guessing the motor is operating ok? I will try and get pics added tonight but all the wiring seemed ok no terminals missing or broken wires.

thank you all in advance for any help.

Some of the Sharp ovens did have a five year warranty, what is the model number please before you dive in too deep.

    thank you for reply

    Model : K-61V28BM1-EN
    Type : N000000000C66228V1

the pyr program will start but about 15 mins in when the oven gets warmed up the oven stops and err6 appears on display, I have tried to find error code but no luck but can only think it’s because the door lock isn’t engaged so must be some kind of safety feature???

    thank you.

That model has a two year warranty.

If no one else comes up with a solution I would give Sharp support a ring on 0333 5777230.

Thank you Don, I just hope the people we bought house from have registered for warranty as we didn’t purchase them and there’s no documentation left in house.
