    Hi Guys

Does anyone know of a cure for this fault :

A few months ago, i decided to switch this machine off at the wall when i wasnt using it, to conserve power. When i did need to use it, i noticed that i segment was missing off the LCD display at the timer counted down whilst cooking. This has now got progressivly worse, to the point where it is impossible to see how much time is set to cook, and guesswork has to be used.
I did take the covers off to see it there was any loose connectors of the display PCB, however there wasnt, but there was something that looked like a small PCB mounted battery.
Has anyone come across this fault, and do they know how to cure it. The machine is only a few years old and as i dont use it much its spotless !! So im loathe to bin it, just because i cant see the display.
Just as not to alarm anyone, im well aware of the dangers of RF Microwave energy and also the high voltages assosiated with the anode of the magnetron and that these high voltages would be accesible on the large capacitor with the covers removed even with the machine unplugged. I also have an HNC in Electronic Engineering.

A popular fault with these. Only cure is new display but requires a lot of patience and a soldering genius with a steady hand 😀
