Currently the shop can’t really do it. When I say that, it can, it’s just a right royal PITA to make it do it, apart from which there’s not enough product lines on there to be of much use really. In fact the shop is more than a bit pants IMO and it needs a massive overhaul to be of any great use, it doesn’t even bring in that much money truth be told, but we do help a lot of people.
UKW was never set up to be a spares supplier, in fact I’d far rather avoid it totally personally. In all honesty the only reason that the shop was put there was to try to earn some revenue from the site to keep it running and that remains the case to this day.
That said we keep being asked to do trade sales and I need more revenue to do some of the stuff I want to do without Kevin bustin’ my @ss, overhauling the shop is one such “stuff”. 😕
We’ve been asked repeatedly by many people to do this as I said, whether there’s enough interest or not I really don’t know as we’ve never really asked or even looked at it, but I suppose we could. However, what I wouldn’t want to do is upset the rest of the trade suppliers that we do work with, quite closely in some cases, as they also have to make a living.
It’s interesting that this was asked this evening as only this afternoon, after one of those “idea” moments on Friday, I was giving this whole trade/retail sales a bit of thought and my sentiments are that, other than specialising in one or the other area entirely, it’s wrong thus far. It could be done properly though, it just needs a bit more thought than any so far appear to have been given.
There are ways to do this and pretty easily from a technological standpoint. It comes down to how much money people are prepared to spend on it, whether they will actually work together and how fast it needs done. But it is doable.
So if you are interested in this then post the interest here and maybe I’ll look into it a bit more in depth.

Trade guys, if you need a spare and have no source from your usual supplier, just ask please as I normally can help 😉
A simple answer to a simple question 😀

yeh it does apear to be a bit of a logistical mine field, but if it could be done im sure most of the members would rather buy from UKW,knowing that the money was going back into the ukw community.

What’s happening there is customers either by email to me or phone are normally asking the usual “how do I fit the part ?” or “does it come with instructions ?”. They are then directed to repairs@ 😀
