Shop Signs ?

I did post this subject under the retail forum three days ago but no one responded but there must be some of you who have shops and have purchased signage for it.

For those with retail premises or a shop do you have any recomendations about signs, sign material that is durable, sign costs.

I am currently thinking of replacing my shop sign which is ageing with something new and shiny. The sign I need is a full width sign and I was thinking of a non-illuminated perspex sign about 10ft by 3ft .

I have had some quotes including fitting for a aluminuim sign with coloured text and logo etc for around 550.00 plus VAT.

Is this the kind of dosh I should be looking at or have any of you found better or cheaper alternatives ?

just a thought if you wanted to make your own you can get a custom made vynl type one on the internet i got one for my van both sides and rear for about £140-00 inc vat it came with instructions, dead easy to apply i dont see why you couldnt get them to make you one to stick on a board , unfortunately i cant remember the name of the company but if you seach the internet im sure you will find a cheap supplyer , they even sent me a picture of my type of van with the finished lettering on for approval

have you tried parkasel lighting ? friends of mine work for the company reparing and installing lighting and pat testing
