I wonder if somebody would be able to help us with a little advice, please.

My mum, who lives on her own, needs to replace her washing machine after 20 years. Her Zanussi has given good service all that time, so this is what she’s inclined to buy again, though she is happy to look at other makes. The machine needs:

    to be reliable
    to do half-loads
to be energy & water efficient.

She’s loking to spend up to about £300, and is considering the ZWF 12070 or the ZWF 16070.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks!

    Hi

Zanussi is probably one of the better machines out there in that sub £300 price point.

Another option could be ISE5 1600 spin AAA rated with a full five-year warranty Or there is the ISE2 which is a good honest simple but reliable machine which can be supplied by a local installer for around the £330 mark with a two year warranty.

Thanks for such a prompt reply. The ISE2 looks a great machine, and seems to be exactly what she’d be after, but the one local supplier listed on the website doesn’t seem sure whether or not he supplies them! We’re waiting for him to get back to us with a price, and then we’ll see – but it could well end up with the Zanussi,so thanks for your reassurance on the brand overall.

    Hi

Let us know the outcome as it may help others in a similar situation in the future.

Quick update – we rang the ISE helpline number who were great – they searched for a supplier for us, and came back to us within an hour, who was offering next day delivery & installation & disposal of old machine, all for £270. Mum will be back home by Frdiay, so hopefully, that’s when she’ll take delivery of the new machine (ISE2). Will let you know how it all goes!
