Siemans vario electronic fails to restart

I have just bought a second hand Siemans vario electronic fridge freezer model no: E-NR KG-31V04 -GB/03 F D 7711/24295 and below: KGV3 104 90 221 011
When switched on it cools down OK and then cuts out as it should. However it will only switch on after a very long time and having fully warmed up. You can slightly shorten the non working time by when it is fairly warm switching the fridge of and on again. This will re start the motor, but it seems only to work when the fridge is warm enough i.e. not every time. Obviously the motor runs for a good while each time it cools the unit down. The fridge has recently been moved and I do not know if it had the problem before – it is new to me.

I don’t know the machine at all but I’d be guessing at either the compressor relay or a thermostat/control issue.

Yes I was thinking a thermistor since the compressor does seem to cut in and out ok. I understand there are thermistor by pass kits but not sure about details etc..
