    We have a Siemens Etraklasse 3583 which is giving problems when starting the programme.

    In order to start the programme you have to slam the door hard or thump the door. This only works after a delay of several minutes from setting the wash programme dial.

    Is the problem to do with the door latch ? or is it the door interlock ? I would welcome advice please.
    After the machine has washed, the we are able to open the door without problems.

    Is it a repair that I could do myself ? ( I am a reasonably competent DIY er )

    Would suspect Door Interlock problem, Bosch OPN 056762, Remember Power OFF :zap: before repair.
