    My Siemens fridge/freezer (KG57U95) has started to trip the consumer unit RCD

    I have traced this back to what seems to be the evaporator defrost element.

    Disconnecting this eliminated the tripping, am I ok to run with it disconnected whilst I order a new part? Or is there any chance that this could be linked to something else? Compressor seems healthy as does the rear condenser fan, and I cant find any electronic gear to the fridge at all.

    Any advice would be much appreciated

    It should last a couple of weeks until it frost up.

    It should last ok until you get the part.
