    SE24030GB/19

    Standard BSH internals.

Complaint of no drain. Checked pump impellor in sump which was clear and after throwing the door latch it was observed ‘apparently’ running fine.
Found the outlet hose badly crushed behind unit.

Returned today with new hose but the drain is still poor.

Removed flap valve and gently blew down outlet pipe, no sign of obstruction. Even ran the machine without the flap valve, pump sounds to be running but unless I drop the pipe to about a foot of the floor it will not empty.

Over the years I have had a couple of Bosch based Hotpoint machines with this problem. Changed a pump on one but neither of them were resolved to my complete satisfaction.

I will change the pump but has anyone else any other suggestions as to the possible cause of this?

Jim, Had this a couple of times and it was the matrix. Try to join the inlet from the pump to the matrix to the outlet from the the matrix temporarily, And if it pumps OK then thats the problem.

I ave done the same trick but just remove the drain pump hose from the bottom of the matrix and direct it into a bucket. I have , on the odd occasion , found a blockage ( glass and food stuffs – Rice/fat build up ) in the matrix connection which couldn’t been seen until the matrix was removed .

Thanks folks, worth a try, although it was very easy to blow through the drain hose with the flap valve removed, no resistance whatsover, still worth a try if only to eliminate. 8)
