Hi I have a Siemens 26230GB / 12, the dishwasher starts, fills etc but never seems to finish a washing cycle and just runs continuously – I have replaced the drain pump which operates fine only if I engage the float switch. There is no blockages anywhere or debris….

if anyone has any pointers on what the issue could be then please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply – FD7905 there is this number near the FD number 370019 the ENR is SE26230GB /12

Thought the issue originally was the drain pump as the machine was not draining water. But then noticed that the cycles just never seem to finish and machine is full of water when I open the door.

I checked the original drain pump with a meter and this looks to be fine. Pump only kicks in when I activate the Microswitch next to the float switch?

check the wires at the bottom of the door. They can break in this area

just for your interest machine manufactured may 99. They dont make them like that anymore

Thanks Dave, checked the wiring under the door and all visually looks ok – although it’s old it’s hardly been used. Thanks for your help

the wire to feed the pump goes from the pump, through the bottom of the door and up to the timer. you need to check continuity as you said the pump was not working
if that is ok you would then need to open the timer and check the components where the pump wire connects to look for damage

first check if the pump runs when you cancel or first start a programme

on your model the pump control wire goes to the right hand side of the base where there are 2 plugs. as it goes through these it may change colour. from there it comes back around and goes up the door. Cant be certain but it likely and its a long time ago

Thanks Dave I will double check the cabling to the pump. The pump does work if I over fill the machine. Also noticed that when the machine is set to a quick wash this should last for 30 mins. As soon as I select quick wash the display shows 0 and the cycle will not stop.Starting to think the control board is faulty? as normally if the display is showing 0 the cycle has finished.

it is possible the timer has gone but we have to exclude everything else first. broken wires are not uncommon and the cheapest answer if its true

i did think it was one of the recalled ones as they had a recall for date codes from 7901 to 8504 but yours does not seem to be included

Hi Dave, thanks for all the pointers they are really appreciated. I have now continuity checked the 2 cables from the drain motor back to the control board connector block everything is fine with the cables. I removed the PCB and noticed damage to the circuit board, looks like one of the components has failed. Would you know where best to try and get a replacement board? Thanks again for all your help it is really appreciated.

at £146 you may think twice
you also have to find out if there is a reason as if you bought the board you dont want it to go bang either

    Hi Dave

Made some progress today, unfortunately its no longer possible to buy a new control board so……

I replaced one of the relays on the control board as it had failed. The dishwasher now steps through all of the cycles without issue, whereas before it was just stuck continually on the wash cycle and did not move on. The machine now drains when I first power on for 15 sec approx. and drains before the rinse cycle but then sticks on drying stage and does not finish just keeps on going and going. There are another 2 smaller relays on the board that I will also replace tomorrow just in case they have failed preventing the machine from completing a full cycle.

how long did you wait on the drying cycle before you gave up. it is suprising how long it takes doing nothing on the drying phase

you said it was a relay that failed. Some board have 2 sides and the joint between both side can be damaged if a joint fails
