I have used the same programme setting (Eco 50 degrees) for the 14 years I have owned my SN65M030GB/16 Siemens dishwasher.
This programme usually lasts about 2hrs 40mins, but recently it has been taking 5-6 hours. No error code is displayed.
However, using the Auto 45-65 degrees programme runs as normal (lasting about 2hrs 30mins).
Which component is likely to be causing Eco 50 to malfunction?

    is it getting hot ?

most of the time heater failure makes programmes longer

    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it is getting hot, and the alternative programme (Auto 45-65 degrees) works fine, with all items nice and clean after an expected 2hrs 30mins duration.

    Some thoughts as a user:

Have a Neff machine so probably more or less the same and have never used the eco setting.

I saw a chart of energy and water use for the various cycles and auto can use less water and electriciity than eco – but obviously it depends on the load. I find if there’s not much in the dishwasher it shortens the wash too mcuh and runs cooler – tea cups still have stains on them etc. For light loads I use the 1hr/65C programme.

Odd that one programme time would stretch out. I will say that once dishwashers start playing up it’s usually time to look around for another one.

Thanks Rorry, you are probably right – perhaps time to look for a new machine.
