Siemens dishwasher pump won’t stop – ideas?

Hi all – hope you can help…

I’ve a Siemens Typ S9W1S dishwasher. The “E-Nr” number is SE 64630GB/17.

The pump won’t stop whirring. The other day the washer wouldn’t drain, so i followed the instructions, poked around the pump and cleared it. It appeared to work for one cycle. But now whenever i turn the washer on, the pump starts (fine) but doesn’t stop, and the cycle doesn’t continue. I’ve tried resetting, but it doesn’t stop the pump, and nothing else happens. The only thing that stops it is just turning the dishwasher off.

Any ideas? Very grateful for any help you can offer.

The internal base of the machine is flooded due to an internal leak somewhere. The subject covered time and time again in these forums and best read about with reference to Bosch machines (the same).

I recommend a local engineer to sort it for you, in which case click on this link for one :- Repairs@

Thanks Martin for your advice. I’ve had a quick at some other threads that seem to have covered this topic.

Before i call an engineer (or rather, negotiate with the landlord to do so), is it worth trying to solve myself? i.e. based on other posts, unplugging and tipping to get the water out?

Just try that, then give your landlord a call to get it fixed properly (at his expense no doubt?) 😉

well, yes, i’d hope so. i’d like it to work at least once, so i can clean the load that’s in there. then i’ll hand it to him to sort for the longer term.
