Dishwasher leaves a white rough finish on crockery and glasses. The stainless steel interior of the machine is affected as well.Have stripped out manifold and vessel and completely stripped and cleaned together with hose to sump.Salt is used and also rinse aid.Tested both solenoids on the water and their ok and there are resin beads in the softener. This deposit does not taste of salt and am using Finish detergent.I am think the water is not being softened. What could cause this.

Was wondering how I can check the regeneration of the resin tank

    Underfilling will do this.

Thanks Chris, yes I get that a lot when out servicing. This machines mine at home and I have done all the usuals.I was wondering whether the module has some sort of reset to factory settings.Thinking maybe the resin is not being regenerated

Could be that Winker. From what you say underfilling isn’t the answer so best check the salt regeneration setting as I doubt there is a fault with the salt valve.

Press the button in between the 2 reset buttons whilst turning the machine on. The display default is H-04. Successive pressing of that button raises the value up to H-09 (lowest setting H-00). Turn machine off to store setting.

    HTH? 😀

Thanks Martin any idea at what point the machine puts the salt through the resin…could sit and watch it.

Ah now you may find you’ll have a job to figure that one. 🙁

You see with your m/c has an electronic salt counter and before each regeneration cycle those electronics check to determine if regeneration should begin? Should those electronics sense there is insufficient capacity of softener only then will the process start.

Water quantity that passes through the heat exchanger during the rinse cycles determining the period when the regeneration process begins. To sit and wait for that to happen could be a lengthy process? As a clue the central (tallest) part of the water matrix unit is where the regeneration channel is and the saline backwash process drains that channel during the regeneration process. The regeneration valve can also be a way of testing the moment it is energised of course. The regen valve is the one to the left of the Ion exchanger valve alongside.

    Confused? Hope not…….HTH? 😀

Thanks that clear enough.Did notice messy deposits at the tallest point of the manifold, maybe blocked ?
