ParticipantHi all good folk,
I have a Siemens SX66T091SK/16
Its been a trusty unit for 10 yrs but yesterday developed an ‘issue’!At start of cycle, water goes in but then when the pressure spinners should fire up, they just dribble water out in a low pressure squirt (!).
Result is that the complete cycle runs (including pump out) but nothing washes. Also, the water is cold throughout.I’ve cleaned the accessible pump rotor near the filter and tried various resets. No error codes showing but could this be a main circulation heater pump on the way out? Anything else I should check?
You can see a video of the action here:

Thanks a bunch.

Moderatorfirst thing i would check is to see if the pump has swallowed something like plastic that may have been on plates
on this model with a bright torch and a small mirror you can see into the pump impellor from the sump
remove filter and dry out water. remove small plastic guard protecting the pump inlet. then use mirror and torch to see if you can see anything
have managed to hook things out with stiff wire to save removing motor

ParticipantAh.. exccellent schematic thanks.
Were you suggesting I should be able to see into the main pump using mirror etc as you describe in your first message?
Thanks again,

Participantif you remove part 0433 you might, without being too optimistic, see into the wash motor with a mirror if not it`ll be a case of taking the wash motor out, BUT before you do that part 0440 can fail so I suggest you 1) start the machine on a quick wash programme 2) when the wash motor does kick in count to 1 minute then open the door and see how much water has entered 3) get a marker pen and mark with a dot each wash blades and leave them pointing towards the door 4) restart by closing door and listen for a change in tone as parts 0440 hopefully move its disc to send water to top wash blade then the lower as visa versa if you cannot hear a tone change between the two then either the water level is too low so add 2 liters by hand to test, or the disc is caught in no mans land because either its little motor (0441) is u/s or the disc is seized. Could be other reasons too. What you do not want is to dismantle the machine only to find no blockage in the wash motor- the machines are very poor to work on, perhaps designed by a sadist?

Thanks again,
Jonathan Cschematics can be seen here

just put Enr in
yes you can see with a small mirror, have done it lots of times
you can see whats inside the pump herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=3RF_KMxb2X4
as for the pump see pic below and the arrow pointing to the impellor input where it can block
if you can see a blockage but cant hook it out you may have to remove the motor. do not take the motor apart as some utube videos show

ParticipantSuch great feedback thanks guys.
If there was a ‘buy me a coffee’ button, Id be punching it like a Las Vegas pensioner!I have checked the main pump inlet as suggested by electrofix – all seems clear (see pic).
Then did the check of the water distributor suggest by andyjawa and this seems fine too. Did a video of the spinners and water is switching between the top and bottom one – albeit at a super low pressure so they almost don’t turn.
Here is the video:
https://vimeo.com/910163820/c0b6892d40?share=copySo…. main pump replacement do we think?
Thanks again to all the helpful assistance from you guys on this. Much appreciated.

ParticipantSo…. main pump replacement do we think? Yep, it is looking that way.

ModeratorI would take the heat pump off there has to be something restricting the impeller

you need to look well down inside till you can see the impellor
the blockage will be in the impellor itself not the passage way to it

Moderatorits not mould. the outlet water goes through there
don worry about it too much, the whole unit would have to come off to clean it
you could try a dishwasher cleaner on a hot wash when you get the new motor
