Siemens Extraklasse XL1200

My Siemens washing machine is about 4 years old.
I have had no problems at all until yesterday when the drum stopped working. The cycle commences, water enters the drum and then drains away at the appropriate time however there is absolutely no movement of the drum and no noise to indicate the point where the drum should be turning.
Is this likely to be an expensive problem?

Some of the Siemens range have a 5 year guarantee 😉

very high chance it will be the brushes, if you are competent in fitting them make sure they slide in the holder okay some need a shaving took off the side with a file…if you dont check this you will have future problems, also fit them with the motor off its quicker in the long run!
