Today my washing machine went out with a large bang – I did unscrew the back cover to see that the big spring holding the drum up had snapped off. I have looked on a couple of websites to see if I could find a replacement spring but couldnt see any – is this because I just have to go and find a regular spring or is there a specific part for my washing machine and where can I find one?
Also wondering how hard it would be for me to attempt to put the new one back in place?

Spring is p/no 173228. As you are in Spain, your easiest purchase route is probably through http://www.bshappliancecare.com .
Lid and power off to fit – extra pair of hands might be useful – that drum unit is heavy.
