Siemens Extraklasse XLS 1400 takes 2hrs for cycle

Evening all.
My machine has increased its cycle time from around 50mins to over 120mins.
Can’t give you a fault code ‘cos the display is u/s, but before the spin cycle it endlessly slowly turns backwards and forwards on and on. Eventually the spin cycle starts then all is OK again. Suspect either Pcb or drain is not functioning correctly.

Don’t know if it’s pertinent but back in June I fitted your supplied new heating element which was catching the drum on the fastest spin. I slackened the 19mm nut and adjusted the element (twice) but it still catches a little (quite a loud ‘duff duff duff’ on fast rotation.

Any clues, please?

You need to remove the element and refit it into the correct position, when you slide it into the drum it should fit into a bracket inside the drum. If drum has been hitting the element you will probably need a new element, because it will be damaged and not heating the water.
