ParticipantWe purchased the above less that 12 months ago and on 3 occasions the temperature in both the fridge and the freezer starts to rise. Temp. should be -18 and +4 and this will start to rise upto +4 for the freezer and +18 for the fridge. And then, without reason, will start to drop again and eventually go back down to the correct temperatures. Have had the Siemens engineer out this morning who can find nothing wrong! Has anyone else had a similar problem and could offer some advice for when it goes again so I can tell the engineer. Thanks very much

Confirm model number as KG32U123GB. There were 2 models very similar, the one I purchased which is white with stainless steel handles and a full stainless steel model.

Not had any problems with them TBH, best leave the engineer sort.
When it borks again, make a note of what you can hear ie- fan, compressor sounds and what is on the display. This will aid him when he returns.
Also, is it possible one of the doors may have been left ajar at some stage?Greg

Freezer door has alarm on, so not a chance! First engineer really baffled, so is sending a more ‘specialist’ engineer next week. Am noting changes in temperature on both fridge and freezer so he has a history of that. In terms of noises, not much difference as far as I can tell. Thanks anyway for the info.

Out of interest where is it installed ?.
Is it anywhere with high temperature, or if in a unit is there plenty ventilation.
It sounds as though the pot may be cutting out on the thermal overload to me. Next time things go crazy carefully put your hand on the compressor, if it feels very hot that may be your problem.

Sorry for the delay in replying Superfix. It’s in our kitchen, which although only small, does not get overheated. It’s not in any housing, just free-standing. The ‘specialist’ engineer is out today so will see what he can find. We had an engineer last Thursday who could find nothing wrong, went wonky again Friday and after about 8 hours where the temp. was continually rising, we had to switch it off for about 40 mins and then back on again, and has worked OK since then. Had to do this, otherwise anohter load of food would be getting binned!

After the last visit a few weeks ago, the engineer replaced 2 electrical parts which control the thermostat (apologies for sounding so vague!). Since then, it has gone again twice, with temperatures in both fridge and freezer rising and then after a period 12-24 hours start righting themselves again. We are getting the engineer back out next Tuesday so any advice prior to then would be much appreciated. I have written to customer services to see how I go in getting a replacement, given the thing started going wrong after about 6 months and is only just over 12 months old. The engineer when he came out was totally perplexed about what it was doing, so just changed these parts in the hope that it would sort it!
