    Hi all,

I’ve just moved into a new flat and I’ve got a query about a Siemens fridge freezer. It had been switched off/defrosted before I moved in and since I have switched it on about a week ago it’s been making a pretty decent noise that seems to me beyond what the usual ‘humming’ that is advertised as a normal sound. Additionally it’s been making this noise constantly, whereas with fridge freezes I’ve had in the past they’ve just come on every now and again to hit the target temperature when required.

The noise is a loud buzzing. I’ve had a look and it’s coming from the compressor. I’ve measured the noise level when my phone and it’s coming out at around 65db. Not sure if that is useful or accurate but it’s pretty loud.

Does the fact that it’s particularly noisy coupled with the compressor running constantly suggest a problem with it do you think?

I’m having trouble locating the specific model number on it unfortunately.

    Cheers,
    Tom
