Siemens fridge thermostat wiring

Hi,

I received a thermostat replacement for my Siemens fridge today, but I could do with a bit of advice on the wiring. I have attached an image and just wanted to clarify what cable goes on which. There are 3 numbers on the thermostat, 3,4 and 6. Does the blue go on 3, brown on 4 and black on 6? Or does black attach to one of the two earth connections at the top.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I think the previous thermostat was not an official part and didn’t have any markings that I can recall. I did do a diagram of the wires which was blue on left, brown on right and black underneath the two above.

Make sure the appliance is unpluged before changing the stat.

Black always fit on 4

Brown normally 6

Blue to 3

Green or green and yellow earth wire to the outside terminal on the body of the stat.

After changing the stat.

Turn the stat to the off position before turning the power back on.

If it does not run in the off position with the power back on then it will be wired correctly.

Turn the stat on and it should work ok if the stat was the fault.

If you turn the power on and it’s runs without the stat turned on then swop blue to 6 and brown to 3
