ParticipantThat’s a nice exploded view Dave, really clear.

ParticipantYes, I have disconnected them all. Also the interior light, same same.

ParticipantOk, so unfortunately it seems that your now at the stage where you need to have a multimeter and know how to use it or look at calling in a professional to help you.

Moderatorwell the only mains item I can see left is the electric lock motor and components
starting to think you may have a faulty RCBO
can you put a plug on it and try it in another socket

ParticipantI have tried to disconnect all «loose» items, included door lock and fans. Also tried a new plug, and another socket. As long as the fault is present at all functions, also on the «light only», even when lamp disconnected, I think a fault on one of the circuitboards is reasonable. Are the white «boxes» on the green card relays?
And thank you all for help and tips!

ParticipantThe circuit boards don’t have earth wires going to them. As Dave says it could be that you have an oversensitive RCBO, but as you say that you’ve moved it to another circuit and that also trips then I’d be looking towards a chafed through wire touching the earthed case or something similar. Yes the white boxes are relays but again they have no Earth connection. You could try lifting the PCBs from their mounting Pilar’s one at a time just to make sure that nothing is tracking to Earth.

ModeratorI assume you have looked at the wiring to make sure it has not rubbed through anywhere
we are sort of out of ideas now as you seem to have covered everything
with an rcbo there are 2 faults that will trip it
1 overcurrent but I would expect constantly blowing fuses would cause damage and the board would show this
2 earth leakage. the unit trips if the current going in and out differs by 0.03 amps. so it does not matter whether live or neutral has a fault if it goes in but not out it trips
the only components that can trip with earth fault are components that have an earth in the first place. That includes elements, motors and lamp holders. it does not include circuit boards as these are not in a metal frame
you say your in Norway, Do your plugs have fuses in them like the uk ?

ParticipantThink they use the type f europlug (Schuko) Dave, so unpolarized & no Fuse.

what I was thinking is if we lowered the fuse to 3a as we could here then we could be sure its an earth fault as it would not blow a small fuse unless the elements were powered

ParticipantLike the train of thought to be fair, sadly not in Norway. RCBO’s are great but when it comes to something like this can be a total pain, unless you use a particular brand regularly and know how they indicate on different fault types.
