Went down to this oven which I’m sure requires a new board. Big flash and smoke when bulb went, customer changed the bulb but all that works now is the grill. The clock sets fine and the oven function can be selected but no heat or fan. Checked the boards but no sign of damage.

The question is what do the two boards do.
I’m presuming the one mounted on the fan cowling nearest the fascia is the control board (the damaged one), but is the one more to the rear mounted to the right (seen from the front/ fascia) just for the pyro lock as nothing else much seems to be connected there?

    Thanks in advance.

    Tony.

IIRC , the smaller board is a mains suplly board. One thing to be careful of. If its def the lamp that’s caused ths control module to ‘pop’ , make sure you check the actual lamp housing for arcing/shorting. If you have the old lamp still , the edison screw may show signs.
The few I’ve had have shorted and by tracing the wiring from the lamp to the board , you can normally find damaged components aside the lamp connector.

Cheers Paul. Have traced the wiring back but no signs of damage to the board at all. Apparently the thing went with a hell of a bang and a flash, I was expecting the board to be in bits. He’s got another lamp enclosure (??) which I’m going to fit first.
