Siemens HB904 – glass door cleaning

The oven’s door glass is now almost totally opaque with years of burnt on splashes. I have tried every cleaning product I can find to try and remove it, I’ve even tried a baking soda paste – but nothing seems to get rid of the grime.

Oven Pride cleaner specifically says don’t use on the glass door – so I have avoided using that – but can anyone suggest a product I can use to shift this stuff?

Failing that, its elbow grease and a scouring pad – but I’m really reluctant to do that for fear of scratching the glass.

possibly look at something like this

does not say it cant be used on glass (you could email and ask )
you may find you have to apply and leave it numerous times to get it off

with a bit of luck a non caustic product like this will soften it and then carefully with a decent scraper (you can buy ones that use a Stanley blade) you can scrape the worst off

alternatively pay to have the oven professionally cleaned then all you have to do is keep on top of it from there

Just to say the idea about using a scraper was a great one.

No expense needed and the glass looks (almost) like new !
