    Hello

Dishwasher wouldn’t drain last night. Emptied with a sponge. Filters seemed clear, and the pump seems to work. But ran an intensive program to test and it’s thrown an E15 error and the tap symbol is flashing. Pulled out the machine to find lots of water underneath.

Is there anything I should check before calling an engineer?
I am a bit torn about whether to even bother calling an engineer out. The machine is over 5 years old and so out of warranty, and to be honest it’s been used pretty intensively, running at least twice a day usually. Be interested to see if that’s a pretty good run for a machine like this, and whether it might just be time to get a replacement. Apart from this its been brilliant – only the water heater had to be replaced under warranty last year.

    cheers

    Jon

IQ 300 is a series of machines but for more accurate advice we need the model number (ENr) number first. (Etched on the inside if the stainless inner door panel)

    sorry – it’s SN26M830GB/28

is it possible water in machine has risen to a high level and overflowed out of the door sides into the base?

More usually it is leak around the fill matrix on the LHS or the tub gasket or even the main circulating pump. Finding the leak can be tricky that’s for sure.

Well – the engineer came. Pump was kaput. But water in the bottom had come from a leak in base of dishwasher pan. Basically you could see it seeping down from the inside under the black insulating stuff.

He said pretty unlucky – hadn’t seen that before. Also, that Siemens wasn’t all that anymore. So what to get next? Is Miele the way to go?

Yes Siemens are high priced rubbish these days whilst Miele still produce far better build quality.

    Imho for dishwashers:

    Miele > Siemens/Bosch > Samsung/Beko > Electrolux

Why samsung and beko before electrolux? Because they don’t typically make irreparable machines, electrolux do!
