    Hi all,

Durring my search for possible solutions to my problem I have stumbled across this forum as it has the closest thread to my problem.

The unit was bought in August 2006 and I convinced my better half that it was worth spending the extra money because it was a quality item and would last for many many years.
Unfortunately in the past few months the temperature of the freezer will not hold at it’s set value of -16 degrees. It started by occaisionally dropping a dregree or 2 after a large food shop filled it up and has now reached a point where it is so frequent even when empty that we can not keep any food in it.

Until tonight the fridge had always been OK, but now it is starting to be actually warm inside after it has been opened on and off durring the preparation of a meal.

I read in a similar thread it relating to a different model that it might be a relatively simple wire needs replacing.

I read in a retail customer review that they had my model but the thermostat went but all was well when they had it replaced.

Has anyone experinced similar problems or know if my unskilled web search diagnosis is correct?
What I am after is a guidline cost of what I should expect to pay if I get someone out to fix it in the most likely scenarios that it can be fixed including parts and labour.

    Thanks in advance.

The first thing i would always advise a customer to do is a full defrost . Empty the fridge freezer , switch off at the wall and leave the doors ajar for approx 48 hrs and then switch back on. It could be something as simple as ice build up on the evaporator section in the freezer after a door being left open for a few hours.

Re: Siemens KG30U694 Fridge Freezer overheating problem

We have already done that, even though being a frost free unit I was not sure if it was required or not.
I forgot to mention in my first post that the area between the fridge and freezer door gets very hot. (the area which physically divides the freezer and the fridge.
