Siemens kg30u694 Fridge freezer wont cool

Hi, last night i happened to notice that the display temps on the unit had both gone up. I checked the compressor and its almost too hot to touch although doesnt seem to be running.

I have unplugged it for half hour, switched back on but the same thing happens. all internal fans are working ok, the unit is now totally warm.

Is this a compressor fault – if so whats the damage likely to be. Unit is not even 2 years old, so much for german reliability. 😡

Sounds like a seized compressor . Does the compressor ‘Buzz’ when its switched on , rather than have the normal compressor noise ?

HOWEVER , don’t panic because If its less than 2 yrs old then its still under warranty . You should book a call with BSH .

Hi thanks for replying. Yes there does seem to be a feint buzz. I have called BSH and they confirmed its still in warranty, 1 month left!.

If that is the case can it be fixed or do they usualy replace the whole fridge.?

in todays climate it will be a repair every time
