    Hi –

I’m having a few problems with my Siemens fridge/freezer, that up until now has been excellent.

In the interior of the fridge part, the back wall is ‘bulging’ and appears to be under some pressure. I can’t think what’s causing this. I noticed the problem a couple of days ago, sometimes the back wall is flush – i.e. perpendicular to the walls of the fridge, but other times it is bursting.

It seemed to be on all the time too – and doesn’t seem to be as cool as it used to be, although the freezer is still fine.

Thinking that this was a build up of ice, I’ve switched the machine off – it’s been off for about five hours. Freezer is completely defrosted and dry. No ice in the fridge, but the wall still appears to be bulging – the defrost doesn’t appear to have fixed the problem. Any ideas?

Does the rear wall of the fridge sort of ‘ pop ‘ when you push it in . like it’s flexing ?

To be honest , if it is , then the rear wall insulation has more than likely gone….and this is why the fridge might not be cooling as effeciently.

If this is the case , then its most likely irrepairable unfortunately .

Yes – it pops back out if you push it in.

Fridge appears to be even worse now following defrosting – luke warm milk on cereal very unpleasant! 🙁

How irritating any suggestions on a new model?

    Hi KRP

Built in fridge freezer 70:30 split from what I can gather, only thing I am not sure of is the height 😉 . If it`s 1750 cm tall then probably one of the following.

AEG SC918436i, Neff K8526X6GB or the Zanussi ZBB6286.

As with any built in refrigeration ventilation is always the key factor for longevity of life, also you will see I have not mentioned any of the cheaper or Chinese type brands, reason being they are not worth spending your hard earned cash on only to have to replace it in a few years time.
