Got a gift voucher to buy washing machine from John Lewis. I want a 1600 spin and an option to wash for example a full load in quick time. The only 2 are Siemens and aeg makes and I haven’t a clue about these brands. I’ve tried to read manuals but getting a headache. Budget £800. Thanks everyone. Hi ope you can help.

Don’t get too hung up on the spin speed as it’s not the most important of things, as explained here:

The 1600 speed machines will extract very little more water than a 1400 but it will crease the fabrics more as they will be squeezed tighter against the drum which in turn reduces the life of the garments.

1600 spin will only be available on the cottons wash cycles. Delicates, wools and other finer fabrics will have a maximum speed much lower to protect them.

You will need to really research hard by downloading the relevant instruction manuals from the manufacturers websites to see the programme guides for the relevant spins.

Cheers Don but it’s not for me I’ve got a Beko from advice from here which is a cracking machine btw.
I’m posting on behalf of a friend who has the Siemens or AeG 1600 spin to choose from JL because of the vouchers.

To be honest, if that’s the only concern there’s little difference what one you pick in my view
