ParticipantWe have a 5 year old Siemens Integrated Dual oven, no model number on it, but the plate on the inside of the door frame has the following reference number on it… HB90454GB/01.
We tried to cook dinner tonight in the lower oven & whilst the fan & the light came on it remained cold.
Sounds like the heater element has gone to me.
Can you let me know if replacing this is a DIY job ( Powering off first of course !!) for a reasonably competant individual? Never taken an oven apart before so not sure where to start – but willing to try !! Any tips gratefully received .
If so what would the parts cost be ?
Thanks
David

Sounds like a fan element that’s expired – relatively straightforward job. Remove the fan cover panel (screws around the edge of the back of the oven). The element can then be unscrewed from the back panel and the 2 wires unplugged. Then just reverse the operations to refit. 😉 Contact Shop@ for the correct part and prices. The number that you quoted is the model number – you will also need the number starting ‘FD’ when ordering.
Always, always, Power Off before investigating. :plug:
Hope that helps!

Is this the same part as the ELE2044 that Shop@ recommended? I’m not saying you are wrong – just checking that the different reference numbers do match!
Thanks.

Thanks!
Your quote from spares@ is over £15 cheaper than a local supplier (who we have always used successfully to date). He referenced a part number 14NF13 – am I comparing the same parts here?

One thing to be wary of. When you pull the element fwd , the power cables go through a hole into the rear of the machine . Be careful when pulling these through as its a tight fit and gently easing the element/cable connectors through the hole will save the cables being pulled off and you having to get the oven out of its housing to take the rear panel off to re-connect them

Update –
Element received less than 24 hours after ordering. I followed all your suggestions & hey presto – oven working again! Probably not a big deal if you do it day in & day out… but for a desk jockey like me, quite an achievement!
Thanks for your help !
