Oven overheated badly burning food. Checked sensor (part No 00423842) which gave a reading of approx 550 Ohms. Is this likely to be the problem?

    TIA

siemens dont give out tech info too easily so we dont know what resistance the probe should be

if you set it at the lowest temp does it still overheat massivly

    Dave. Thanks for the response.

Yes, it overheats massively at both normal and air setting even when set at 40 deg C.

first thing i think i would check is the relays on the board. If the one that controls temperature is welded closed it will cause this fault

    Thanks Dave

I was hoping it would be a simple fix, like a new sensor. Seeing as the oven is 15+ years old I’ll just scrap it.

    try one big long shot

find board and firmly tap each relay

    then try it

if it works it was a stuck relay and it may happen again or it may not

    Thanks again Dave.
I hear what you are suggesting, but we decided to cut our losses. New oven being delivered tomorrow – not Siemens!
