Checked sensor (part No 00423842) which gave a reading of approx 550 Ohms. Is this likely to be the problem? TIA January 9, 2023 at 8:00 pm #485294 electrofixModerator siemens dont give out tech info too easily so we dont know what resistance the probe should be if you set it at the lowest temp does it still overheat massivly Dave January 9, 2023 at 10:23 pm #485295 roybunParticipant Dave. Thanks for the response. ‘if you set it at the lowest temp does it still overheat massivly, Yes, it overheats massively at both normal and air setting even when set at 40 deg C. January 9, 2023 at 10:35 pm #485296 electrofixModerator first thing i think i would check is the relays on the board. If the one that controls temperature is welded closed it will cause this fault Dave January 12, 2023 at 10:48 am #485297 roybunParticipant Thanks Dave I was hoping it would be a simple fix, like a new sensor. Seeing as the oven is 15+ years old I’ll just scrap it. January 12, 2023 at 7:14 pm #485298 electrofixModerator try one big long shot find board and firmly tap each relay then try it if it works it was a stuck relay and it may happen again or it may not Dave January 12, 2023 at 9:59 pm #485299 roybunParticipant Thanks again Dave. I hear what you are suggesting, but we decided to cut our losses. New oven being delivered tomorrow – not Siemens! January 12, 2023 at 11:17 pm #485300 electrofixModerator as long as its not one of the cheap makes will be ok Dave January 13, 2023 at 7:55 am #485301 roybunParticipant Miele – it cheap!
