ParticipantHi,
I have a problerm with my Siemens Oven.Typ HBT492L
E-Nr HB34551GB/05
240V
50Hz
2.8kW
M35WProblem is food takes about 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} longer than normal to cook in the oven. When I select oven, there seems to be moderate heat from the upper (grill) element and also from the base of the oven, making me think the oven utilises 2 elements. Can anyone confirm if this is correct ? Also, is there another element at the rear of the oven ? (the rear of the oven, around the fan, is cold – I dont have torzx bits with me to remove the cover to inspect it – thats my next move).
Furthermore, the fan does turn, but I can stop it with poking in a thin cable tie – I would expect it to not stop. Is the fan motor a common part to fail ?
I am guessing that the M35W on the label on the oven door is the rating of the motor (or is it the rating of the bulbs ??).Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Graeme

Hi,
Further info, I have just taken a torx driver to the oven and found there is a rear element and it is burst. The fan, however, is rated at 35W but can be stopped very easily. Think I need new fan as well as new element.

287255 – fan oven element.
481284 – fan motor.spare@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get these for you promptly as they are not in the shop@ facility.
It’ll be a cause and effect problem – the weak fan motor allows the element to cook itself.

Hi,
How difficult is it to get a part for an oven ??? 🙁
Got a part number off a guy called penguin45, emailed his contact at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk but no reply – that was 5 days ago !!!!
Couldn’t find the element or the fan on any web site, so emailed 7 of them with my request for quote for the element and the fan. Got mixed response.
For your info, here are my responses…….
support@ukapplianceparts.com Good price for fan 😀 , expensive for element
elementman@btconnect.com Great price for element 😀
sales@elerep.co.uk Got a reply, but not stock
info@easyspares.co.uk No Reply 🙁
spares@whitegoods.co.uk No Reply 🙁
sales@elements4u.co.uk No Reply 🙁
enquiries@sparesfrhome.co.uk No Reply 🙁Quite disappointing that so many did not reply – that is now 5 days since I sent out the emails.
Anyway, element arrived from elementman and fan arrived from ukapplianceparts. Thanks to them for their great service.

Well all credit to you for persistence there Graeme. 😉

Thanks for the link Martin, didn’t know Siemens had online shop, certainly will use in future if needed.
Fitted the parts today and now have delightful option to cook food thouroughly as opposed to the ping ping microwave food !!
Thanks again,
Graeme
