siemens oven tripping ring main

my siemens oven is tripping the ring circuit. I can turn the oven on (light and fan comes on ) but as soon as I attempt to turn the temp’ switch the circuit trips . Has anyone got any ideas . Would it be the thermostat is faulty ?

I doubt that the thermostat will be at fault, more likely the circotherm element has some earth leakage or completly blown.
Now titian my crystal ball isn’t working tonight so you will have to supply model/enr number for us to get you the part number of the element 😀
