This D/W started making a whining noise from the front left hand side of the machine, it then stopped whining and now the washing arms inside the machine will not spin, can someone advise if the motor has gone and how easy are the to replace, can it be done by removing the side panels or does the base need to be removed.

I assume I could purchase a new motor off this site somewhere?

    Many Thanks

There’s not much that could make a noise at the front left of the machine TBH, the drain pump is close to that area but they rarely make a whining noise, and wouldn’t give the symptoms you describe anyway.

So…assuming the noise does come from front left then it will be something to do with the water metering system.

On the other hand, if indeed the wash pump is faulty then an email to Dave_Conway at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will sort it for you, however this is not an easy DIY job…you basically need to take the entire tub off the base to get sufficient access.

If you need professional help try the link below, if you go it alone then don’t forget to unplug before you do anything :zap:

I have had a couple recently where the impeller in the circulating pump has broken – causing noise and no spray action.
