siemens se24m851gb/01 dishwasher

hi,
the dishwasher is overfilling it doesnt flood as a plastic bobbin float in the left panel cuts the pump in then the level drops and it fills up again then pumps.
there is no water in the base the polystyrene float is not activated.

i have checked the clear plastic tube at the front lhs it is clean.

i cannot work out what gives the machine the water level it has a flow meter but no pressure switch.

any ideas welcome.

The signal from the flow meter tells the module to stop the filling sequence.

Change the flow meter, that should sort it.
