ParticipantI have a Siemens SE25A090GB/12 Dishwasher which has recently started sticking when running an Auto program. It works absolutely fine on both the 50 & 70 degree programs but not on Auto.
After reading through most of the posts on this site I have:
Cleaned the filters
Checked the spray arms
Checked and cleaned the pump impellor
Removed the matrix on the left hand and flushed it out, there is still some black crud in the top rear corner, but this appears to be an unconnected void so I assume that this is unimportant?
Removed and cleaned the water level float switch from the pressure chamber (only minor crud and lime scale)
Checked that the hose leading from the pump to the pressure chamber is clear and unobstructed
Checked that the outlet hose is clear and unobstructedWhen on an Auto program the dishwasher completes the initial rinse, then appears to just sit there humming away to itself. When you open the door there is no visible water in the bottom of the machine, eventually you get a 1 on the display
Is there another sensor which is only operative on the Auto program, the Aquasensor maybe? Where is it? Can anyone throw any light on this problem?
Thanks ChrisOctober 26, 2007 at 1:40 pm #232215Martin

OK, The auto programme relies on a ‘Turbidity Sensor’ attached to the heater box. That’s an infra red light sensing device that measures dirt levels. They crud up! especially if you don’t put salt in the machine and/or go for those indian curries and tomato sauced up dishes.
Does the machine heat up the water ? When its works on other progs does it get hot? If not then the heater unit is at fault. If it does heat OK then try running a few cycles using dishwasher cleaner in the hope of flushing those curry stains out.
Failing all of the above then its a major strip-down to access and replace the turbidity sensor as its attached to the heater box!!

Hi Martin, thanks for the quick response!
The machine heats up the water fine and yes it does see a fair number of curries and chillies!
I will try running a few 70 degree programs with dishwasher cleaner and I’ll let you know what happens…
