Machine won’t drain or dry – keeps wash cycle going indefinitely. Thought it was due to a power cut messing up the timer switch it’s attached to, but it was still washing 5 hours later (!), and the salt light had come on (only refilled a few days ago). Outlet hoses and house plumbing all seem clear. Any help gratefully received!
Thermostat or thermistor failure would be the most obvious thing to check. If the timer or electronics don’t get a signal that the temperature has been reached then the machine won’t advance past that phase of the program.
Thanks for the advice – I’ve studied the exploded diagrams on the BSH website, and assume that the thermistor is it the ‘Sensor-NTC’ attached to the water heater module. Is there an additional separate thermostat, as I can’t find one? Sorry to be thick, but this is a pretty ancient dishwasher, and if I can’t fix it myself for under about £30, it’s probably not worth repairing.
