ParticipantHi, my Siemens SE34A260SK/47 stopped heating water. Also when using auto program it gets stuck to 1 min. I think the heating element need to be replaced. Do you think thats the solution?
Is the Bosch part number 488856 right heating element for my machine? I have not yet taken it apart.

Thanks!

Could be but needs testing first with a meter to be sure? Also the main PCB may be at fault (burnt heater relay terminal?)

Yes it is and you’ll have such fun doing it! 😀

Thanks.

Remove the red wire and the wire/green wire from the heater terminals to get resistance readings.
Did I spot mouse droppings in the plastic base?

23-24ohm. So its should be working?

Yes, there was mouse nest behind the dishwasher and it was cleaned + the mouse trapped couple of months ago.
What is the next thing to test?March 25, 2013 at 3:41 pm #392664Martin

See my first reply to you regarding the PCB and check that ruddy mouse hasn’t chewed through a heater wire…..!

Ok, I checked what i think was that PCB. And there you can see some burn damage.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ihjk1f1zcpj86 … .48.06.jpgAnd the mouse had chewed 2 wires insulation. One i fixed with tape and other i soldered 5cm of new wire.
What do you think had caused that burn on card?
EDIT: Is it just that relay that have failed? Is it possible to get it working by just soldering new relay there?

It certainly is possible yes though the burnt area on the component side looks a little more severe than usual. Give it a go anyway!

I finally got new relay (my local electronic shop had to order it and it took 2 weeks..) and desoldered the old one.
The burnt area looks kinda bad:

And the new relay got 5 legs and the old one only 4. Can it still be used?
