ParticipantMachine is stuck with drain pump running,no water in base though, pies clean, flood switch is OK,level switch ok Plus as soon as it is switched on and door closeds it fills, empties and wash pump also,no lights at all.
Can’t see any physical prob’s with module,no earth leakage at all and wiring looks OK so would go for Module but at £108 trade I’m slight apprehensive, any comments please.
Thanks

Not sure at what point you get no lights though? 😕 So, my question, when you open the door and switch on the main switch can you select a programme and does that programme led light?

Could be water diverter on heater box caused module to fail.
Did any of the surface mount triacs look blown or have a piece missing from them???????????

There’s no life at all apart from the drain pump runs as soon as the on off button is pressed,no lights show and programmes can”t be selected.
I looked at the board but couldn’t see any physicaol damage to the board or components 😕April 8, 2009 at 7:46 am #282517Martin

Now I may be wrong here but I recall a similar fault on a S5443X2GB/17 I went to back in Oct 2007. Only the pump would run on that one and I found that the pump was seriously overheating (red hot it was after running for a few seconds in fact).
I changed the pump and the problem was sorted in this instant and possibly, just possibly mind? You may have the same problem with yours?….dunno but worth checking out that drain pump I reckon! 🙂

Have had a second look at this and have found that a triac has blown on the board,as I said earlier checked everything else, can’t find or see any other faults.
Both pumps run fine.April 9, 2009 at 1:29 pm #282519Martin

Source what those triacs switch (Heater?…Dispenser?) before replacing the module won’t you? 😉

Hi Spimps: I think what Martin means is that there are 3 legs on the Triac that’s blown, the print from 1 Normally the middle will go to one of the edge connectors. If you trace it from there to the component it supplies you will know what to replace so that the board doesn’t pop as soon as you replace it & cost you more money. 🙂

Thanks, feel a bit of a dumbo, traced it through to water directional valve which according to the Bosch site is part of the heater assembly.
Cost of control pcb and the valve will mean it’s on a journrey back to the chineese furnaces.April 9, 2009 at 5:51 pm #282524Specialist01269
ParticipantRe: Siemens SE64A630GB/44
Hi Spimps: U any good with a soldering iron? if you are you can replace the Triac easily enough, you can buy them for about £2.00 each from places like CPC or Rapid. http://www.cpc.co.uk or http://www.rapid.co.uk.
Could save the cost of a board.
Why do you feel a dumbo mate? none of us know everything about all machines, that’s why this Forum is so good you have access to lots of skilled help.
All the best: Andy 🙂April 9, 2009 at 7:37 pm #282525spimps

It’s just the ” why didn’t I think of that” syndrome,ie traceing the wires through, hands probably a bit to shaky at 60+ for fine tip soldering, might give it a go though .
Only found this board recently, been missing out since it began.
I’ve been a one man operation since 1983 and it’s great talking to folks in the same situation and business.
cheers

Hi Mate: I think thats called Engineer syndrome, we sometimes get so caught up in what we do that we forget to check the simpler things.
Been there, done that & got both teeshirts 😆
In the same boat myself but I only just came back into this after a long spell away, To me this site is a godsend, we may work alone but when we have a problem we don’t have to think alone. 😀

I thought that it may of been related to the diverter, unfortunatly they do tend to destroy the board and not easy to repair as its all surface mount stuff.
You will find if you dismantle the diverter that the seal has probably leaked into it causing the failure.
I usually find it ends up a write off due to cost 🙁
