Siemens sf24t558gb stuck on Prewash rinse aid light on

Hi all,

Many thanks for any help .

We have a Siemens dishwasher. It seems to be stuck on Prewash with the rinse aid light permanently on. Was fine yesterday but not this morning! Have reset to no avail and pump is pushing water out down hose.. Any ideas… Perhaps a heater problem of one sort or another?

Can you tell us exactly what happens when you set the ‘Reset’?

When I reset it the timer goes from 22 to 0 mins,there is a whering noise ( I presume the pump is cycling) intermittently for just under a minute. It does not switch off at 2 minutes. The prerinse and refill rinse aid lights stay on… That is all that happens!

OK Iain so it seems the programme resets as it should. The programme LEDs don’t normally go out anyway and the Rinse Aid LED is just indicating that the Rinse Aid needs a refill.

So, next question, at this point you cannot set any other programme option? If that is the case then that Control Unit is faulty and needs replacing. 🙁
