Siemens SN25M230UK/01 integrated dishwasher. FD 8912.

Heat pump unit failed (no heat) so new one sourced from Connect and fitted end of October last year. All fine until Sunday and the machine trips out the customer’s house…. :rolls:
Called this morning and found the heater virtually direct short to earth. So I disconnected it, connected a multimeter to the heater plug and ran the dishwasher to check that the heater supply from the PCB was OK.

Full quick wash cycle…relays clicking in and out….no power at all to the heater. Looks like when the heater blew it fried the PCB….. 👿

Rang Connect to find it is inside the 3 month warranty 😯 thanks for that! Explained about the PCB and they’re not interested – as expected.

Has anyone had this happen? This part is 2 1/2 months old and has probably taken out the module which looks like I’ll have to foot the bill for the PCB to avoid customer relations problems.

3 months guarantee…FFS I wish I could get away with that in my business. Shows they have little to no faith in what they are supplying. Jobs like these you wish you never bothered to go in the first place…. 😥

You may find there is a supply but needs the resistance of the part, heater in this instance, for it to show?

Sorry Tim; I forgot to mention I fitted a resistance across the heater plug using a dispenser solenoid of the heating / expanding type. That didn’t function at all; my meter was across the terminals at the same time as a double check. Normally works in all cases, hence my worry that the board is frazzed.
Got a replacement heat pump coming today….hope for the best I suppose….. 😥

    Cheers,

    Steve.
