I have looked at the above machine which is reported to give an E31 error.
On testing, the machine does not heat during the wash. The wash element tests OK so do I assume it’s the main PCB or is there anything else to consider on this machine?
I have read in another thread an E31 can be down to the zeolith heater and fan but if this is the case would it prevent the machine from heating in the wash?
Yes, the dishwasher would fail to heat. Zeolite heater is used to heat the wash water. Probably the large red “o” ring under the vent in the corner of the tank has allowed water to enter the zeolite element. (E31) Big job I’m afraid. 🙁
Thanks BSH- MAN,
This machine lists the heat pump as well.
Does it use both heaters? if so, when?
What is involved in replacing the zeolith heater?
Also, if I wanted to remove the PCB, does the zeolith heater have to come out first?
Keith.
Only uses heat pump on last rinse. To change zeolite heater, you need to remove tank. Sometimes water can reach the fan motor too! I have taken the power module out without disturbing the zeolite system.E31 means that water has been detected in zeolite heater tube.
