Siemens dishwasher (Slimline model similar presumably to many Hotpoint/Bosch/NEFF) draining ok but not filling with water – buzzing noise….
Has worked fine for many (15 odd years) but suddenly will not fill with water – a soft water area if that helps. Have taken apart (top and side panels removed) so far and can manually fill the machine through the salt container so does not appear to be a blockage near the sump. Presumably is the inlet filters and/or the inlet water valve – but how do you gain access to them ?

Has anything changed in the water supply to the machine, sounds like valve energised but no water

Hi
nothing has changed in the water supply but have managed to get the inlet valve out. Checked across the solenoid terminals and is open circuit so hopefully that is the problem.
Have ordered a new part and hopefully will arrive this weekend.
Did not realise the base was hinged (!!)
